Karl Ludwig von Posner
Karl Ludwig von Posner (* 1822 ; † 1887 in Budapest ) was an Austro-Hungarian entrepreneur.
biography
In 1852 he founded the largest printing, lithography and bookbinding company in Hungary, and he was sent by his government as commissioner for the exhibitions in London (1871), Vienna (1878) and Trieste (1882). In 1884 he was authorized by Trefort, Minister of Education, to introduce the production of maps in Hungary. In this respect Posner was instrumental in the development of the Hungarian graphics and paper industry. Due to the quality of his products, he was appointed purveyor to the royal court .
King Franz Joseph I ennobled him in 1873 and awarded him the title of royal councilor in 1885 . His work was successfully continued by his son Alfred.
