Karl Martin Holzhäuser (born February 18, 1944 in Gardelegen ) is a German photographer and university professor.

From 1962 to 1965 he did a photography apprenticeship at the Museum Dahlem in Berlin . In 1965/66 he studied at the Werkkunstschulen in Darmstadt and Saarbrücken with Oskar Holweck , then he studied with Kilian Breier at the University of the Arts in Berlin until 1969 . In 1970 he began teaching at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences , where he was appointed Professor of Photography in 1975 . Art critics and his long-time mentor Gottfried Jäger consider him to be one of the most important representatives of generative and concrete photography .
