Karl Panzenbeck

Karl Panzenbeck (born January 23, 1899 in Langenwang ; † April 13, 1967 in Graz ) was an Austrian humorous author and lecturer.

Panzenbeck graduated from the teacher training college in Graz and worked as a secondary school teacher and director. He later studied German and philosophy at the University of Graz and obtained his doctorate in 1930. phil. He was best known for the radio programs "Lustiges Mess" and "Waglbacher Frühschoppen". The Styrian also published books and records, as well as drama . Panzenbeck made his debut as an author with Das viereckerte Dreieck (1937). Many of his humorous stories and scenes take place in the imaginary Styrian mountain village Waglbach .

In his honor the “Dr. Karl Panzenbeck Memorial Prize “awarded to folk authors.
