Karl Pfefferle

Karl Pfefferle (born March 29, 1918 in Münstertal / Black Forest ; † October 24, 2009 there ) was a German beekeeper and author.

At the age of 16, after the death of his grandfather, he took over his large apiary with over 100 colonies. He is considered a pioneer of magazine beekeeping. His work Our Beekeeping with the magazine received gold medals at Apimondia in 1979 and 1983 . Pfefferle was the main initiator and motor of the Münstertal Apiculture Museum .

In 1981 Pfefferle was honored as honorary beekeeper of the German Beekeeping Association. In 1987 he became the only German practitioner to date to be an honorary member of the world organization APIMONDIA. In 2002 he was made an honorary member of the German Professional and Commercial Beekeeping Association. In 1979 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, in 1986 the State Medal for Agriculture and Forestry and in 1995 the honorary citizenship of his home town Münstertal
