Karl Pischl

Karl Pischl (born June 30, 1940 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and state official. Pischl was a member of the Federal Council from 1972 to 1979 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1979 to 1990 .

Pischl attended elementary school from 1946 to 1951 and then secondary school until 1955. He worked for the Austrian Post from 1958 to 1960 and joined the Tyrolean provincial government in 1961 . In addition, he completed the external Matura between 1961 and 1964 and passed the state clearing examination between 1964 and 1965. In 1966, Pischl switched to the Tyrol regional group of the Austrian Economic Association and from 1973 was again employed at the office of the Tyrolean regional government. In 1991 he was promoted to head of the family department, in 1987 he was appointed official director and in 1997 professor.

From 1961 Pischl became involved as a member of the ÖAAB Tirol and the Young People's Party (JVP) and between 1967 and 1970 held the position of district chairman of the JVP Innsbruck-Land. Between 1970 and 1976 he was regional chairman of the JVP Tirol. From 1979 to 1991 he was also the education officer of the ÖVP Tirol 1979–1991, from 1976 to 1985 deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP Innsbruck-Land and between 1985 and 1997 district chairman of the ÖAAB Innsbruck-Land. He represented the ÖVP between November 24, 1972 and June 4, 1979 in the Federal Council and then moved to the National Council from June 5, 1979 and November 4, 1990. Between April 5, 1994 and November 30, 1997 he was again a member of the Federal Council.
