Karl Sattler (born January 28, 1896 in Mainz ; † 1944 or 1945 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp ) was a German machinist and politician (KPD).
Live and act
Sattler, a trained machine fitter, began to get involved in the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) after the First World War . From 1930 to July 1932 he was a member of the Berlin Reichstag as a member of his party for constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen). After the National Socialist " seizure of power ", Sattler was imprisoned from February 1933 to April 1934 and again from June 1936. In March 1937 he was sentenced by the Hamm Higher Regional Court for “preparation for high treason ” to four and a half years in prison and three years of loss of honor . After his release from Siegburg prison , Sattler was under police surveillance. On August 22nd, 1944, he was arrested again in the " Operation Grid ". Sattler died under unknown circumstances in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp; the date of death May 8, 1945 was judicially set in 1950.
