Karl Schnabel

Karl Josef Schnabel (born March 14, 1938 in Dortmund ; † February 26, 2017 in Marburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Schnabel was a heating fitter by profession. Schnabel was elected to the council of the city of Marburg and was a member of the district council of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district from 1974 to 1991 . From 1974 to 1995 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament . Schnabel has been an honorary district member of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district since 1997. He was involved as honorary chairman of the Red Cross -Kreisverbands Marburg , whose honorary president he was since 2011, and as chairman of the Marburger Association for the Promotion of cardiac surgery. Karl Schnabel is also the founder and honorary member of the Marburger Tafel . In 2005 he received the Great Federal Cross of Merit . Schnabel was married and has three sons.
