Karl Treutwein

Karl Treutwein (born April 23, 1921 in Schweinfurt ; † May 26, 1985 ibid) was a German homeland researcher and author.

Life

Karl Treutwein graduated from the Schweinfurt high school in 1939, today's Celtis high school . He studied three trimesters of war at the University of Erlangen. He was a soldier from 1940 and was seriously wounded in 1944. In November 1945 he entered the Lower Franconian public school service. He worked first in Laub am Steigerwald , then in Gochsheim and was finally transferred to Schweinfurt, where he retired as vice-principal. From 1964 to 1985 Treutwein was the second chairman of the historical association Schweinfurt e. V. For the district of Schweinfurt he worked as a home nurse until 1972. He died in 1985.

In addition to numerous articles, e.g. B. for the magazine Frankenland , which is published by the Frankenbund, Treutwein wrote several books that deal mainly with the landscape, history and culture of the Lower Franconian region. He mostly photographed the pictures for these books himself.
