Karl Viktor Decker

Karl Viktor Friedrich Maria Decker (born April 18, 1934 in the Villa Maria in Mariaweiler near Düren , † October 31, 2019 ) was a German prehistorian .

Karl Viktor Decker studied ancient history and archeology at the universities of Munich, Vienna and Bonn from 1954 and in Mainz from 1964 , where he received his doctorate in July 1966 under Rafael von Uslar . From 1966 until his retirement in the spring of 1999 he worked at the Landesmuseum Mainz , most recently as chief curator, and here in particular responsible for the prehistoric collections.
