Karl Wilhelm Kirchhöfer

Karl Wilhelm Kirchhöfer (born February 3, 1933 ) is a German local politician ( SPD ) and former mayor of the city of Siegen .

Life and politics

Karl Wilhelm Kirchhöfer was a member of the municipal council from 1961 until the independent municipality of Bürbach was incorporated into the city of Siegen in 1966 and deputy mayor for the entire time he was a member of the Bürbach municipal council.

From 1969 until 2004 Kirchhöfer was a member of the City Council of Siegen. From 1990 to 1994 and from 1999 to 2004 he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Siegen city council.

From November 4, 1994 to September 30, 1999, Kirchhöfer was the last honorary mayor of the city of Siegen until the introduction of the full-time mayor in connection with the municipal constitutional reform.

Awards

In 2008, Karl Wilhelm Kirchhöfer received the seal of honor from the city of Siegen for his commitment to local politics. The Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit was awarded to him in 1981, and in 2004 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.
