Ulf Stötzel (* 24. September 1939 in Siegen ) is a German politician of the CDU and was from 1999 to 2007 Mayor of the town of Siegen.

Life

Ulf Stötzel attended the Fürst-Johann-Moritz-Gymnasium in Weidenau and after graduating from high school studied architecture and urban planning at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen .

From 1963 to 1966, Stötzel was head of the planning group A 45 and Hüttentalstraße at the State Road Construction Office (LSBA), Siegen branch (today State Road Construction Office NRW ). When he moved to local government, from 1966 to 1979 he was initially head of the construction department of the municipality of Netphen and from 1991 to 1999 municipal director in Netphen.

In the local elections in 1999, Stötzel was elected full-time mayor of the city of Siegen with the first direct election. In the local elections in 2004 he was re-elected directly as mayor and head of administration. When he reached the age limit of 68, Stötzel's term of office ended on September 30, 2007.
