Karl von Liebezeit

Karl von Liebezeit (born November 4, 1933 in St. Pölten , † April 23, 2002 in Hamburg ) was a German actor of Austrian origin. He is the father of the German film / television actor Karl-Heinz von Liebezeit .

In the 1950s he had his first engagements in Karlsruhe and Basel, among others. In 1966 he was engaged by Hans Schalla in Bochum, where he was part of the permanent ensemble until 1977 under the direction of Peter Zadek . Further stations were Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Marburg, Wunsiedel, Neuss. For example, he worked with Rainer Werner Fassbinder , Klaus-Maria Brandauer , Ulli Lommel and Franz Peter Wirth . During his last engagement at the Landestheater Neuss, he campaigned for the foundation of Menschen für Menschen with readings and a number of fundraising . After a short, serious illness, he died of leukemia in 2002 .
