Karl von Spohn

Karl Ritter von Spohn (born December 26, 1812 , † April 30, 1890 ) was for many years head of the kk district administration in St. Pölten .

Karl Ritter von Spohn was born on December 26, 1812. From August 31, 1868 until shortly before his death on April 30, 1890 he was head of the kk district administration in St. Pölten. At that time, today's statutory town of St. Pölten was also part of the district. Before that he was governor and district chairman in Krems .

He is therefore the first district captain in the St. Pölten district and he had the longest term in office.

In 1866 he was awarded the Order of the Iron Crown III. Excellent class, in 1882 he was knighted.

Karl Ritter von Spohn was Imperial Court Councilor and honorary citizen of St. Pölten and lies in an honorary grave at the main cemetery in St. Pölten.
