Karlheinz Jansen (Carnivalist)

Karlheinz Jansen (born February 9, 1926 in Cologne ; † May 1, 2017 there ) was a German carnivalist and handcrafted speaker who achieved wide fame as Ne Tröötemann .

Life

Karlheinz Jansen appeared for over fifty years as a hand-made speaker in Cologne and the surrounding area, for many years as Ne Tröötemann with a sousaphone , but also as the cyclist . In 1964 he made his first appearance in the Gürzenich . Until 2014 he was also involved as Father “Broder Bätes” in the series of events “Kölsch Milljöh” and “Kölsche Christmas”. He has performed in Korea, Japan, the USA and Namibia.

For more than 65 years he was a member (nicknamed "Spreutz") of the Rote Funkengarde Cologne , the oldest traditional corps in the Cologne carnival, whose member since 1953 and Knubbelführer of the 2. Knubbels since 1962.

Jansen worked for the Cologne transport company and later as a fire inspector for the Cologne fire brigade. The former mayor of Cologne, Norbert Burger, described Jansen's resume as a Cologne resident, flak helper, soldier, tram conductor, firefighter, arbitrator, family man and carnivalist .

Jansen was buried in the family grave in Cologne's southern cemetery (hall 118 no. 80–81).
