Karola Sube

Karola Sube (born April 28, 1964 in Berlin , after marrying Karola Ziesche ) is a former German gymnast . Your home club was the SC Dynamo Berlin .

In 1977 Karola Sube won the balance beam competition at the Spartakiade and took second place in the GDR championship in the senior class on the same machine. At the 1978 World Championships in Strasbourg, she was part of the GDR squad, along with Steffi Kräker , Silvia Hindorff , Birgit Süß , Heike Kunhardt and Ute Wittwer , who won bronze behind the Soviet team and the Romanians. In the following year, at the 1979 World Championships in Fort Worth, Kräker, Hindorff and Sube were on the team, plus Maxi Gnauck , Katharina Rensch and Regina Grabolle , who won bronze again behind Romania and the Soviet Union. At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, the GDR squad featured almost the same line-up, with only Birgit Süß replacing the injured Regina Grabolle. The team won bronze again, in the individual ranking Sube took 23rd place.

The trained receptionist studied at the hotel and restaurant industry and then worked for a long time at the Sporthotel Berlin.
