Silvia Hindorff

Silvia Hindorff (born June 27, 1961 in Sebnitz , after marrying Silvia Hafemeister ) is a former German gymnast . Your home club was the SC Leipzig .

Silvia Hindorff attended the children's and youth sports school in Dresden. After winning the Spartakiade on the balance beam in 1975 , she moved to SC Leipzig, where she trained with Helmut Gerschau. In 1978 she won the GDR championship title in floor exercise and on the uneven bars. At the World Championships in Strasbourg in 1978 , she finished eleventh in the all-around competition and won the bronze medal with the team. On the ground, she reached the individual finals, where she finished fifth. Due to a change in the rhythm of the event, world championships were held again in 1979, at the competitions in Fort Worth Hindorff took 15th place in the all- around competition and again won bronze in the team competition. She won her third bronze medal with the team at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, and in the all- around event she reached 21st place.

Silvia Hindorff studied at the Leipzig DHfK and after her career was a trainer at SC Leipzig, later she worked as a physiotherapist. Her son Sven Hafemeister was part of the junior division of the German Wrestling Federation and later switched to wrestling.
