Karpatneftechim
Coordinates: 49 ° 4 ′ 26.7 ″ N , 24 ° 18 ′ 11.6 ″ O Karpatneftechim ( Russian Карпатнефтехим , Ukrainian Карпатнафтохім ) is a chemical plant in Kalush in western Ukraine. The factory opened as "Oriana" in the 1970s and has been owned by Russian Lukoil since 2000. It consists of a chlor-alkali electrolysis and a petrochemical branch.
The ethylene obtained in a steam cracker (capacity 250,000 t per year) is used to produce polyethylene (PE) and vinyl chloride . The vinyl chloride is polymerized to polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The TVK plant in Hungary is also supplied via an ethylene pipeline .
