Ergo Direkt Versicherungen ( spelling ERGO Direkt Versicherungen , formerly KarstadtQuelle Versicherungen ) is an insurance company of the Ergo Group based in Nuremberg and, according to its own information, "Germany's most popular direct insurer ". Ergo Direkt Insurance developed and marketed insurance products for direct and online sales under this name until April 2019.
Corporate structure
Externally, the Ergo Direkt insurance companies are divided into three stock corporations:

- Ergo Direkt Versicherung AG
- Ergo Direkt Krankenversicherung AG, since March 2019 Ergo Krankenversicherung AG
Ergo Direkt Lebensversicherung AG is responsible for life insurance. It was merged with Ergo Vorsorge Lebensversicherung AG in August 2019. Ergo Direkt Versicherung AG covers the area of composite insurance. It offers property insurance, accident insurance and legal expenses insurance. Ergo Direkt Krankenversicherung AG offers health insurance, among other things, in direct and online sales. In March 2019 it was renamed Ergo Krankenversicherung AG.
Ergo Direkt Versicherung AG and Ergo Krankenversicherung AG are based in Nuremberg . More than 1,600 employees work at the central location in Nuremberg. This makes the company one of the 20 most employers in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region .
history
The company emerged from Quelle + Partner Insurance , which was founded in 1984, and later Quelle Insurance . After the merger of Karstadt and Quelle , the insurance company was named KarstadtQuelle Insurance . Almost 80% of the company has been owned by the Ergo Group since the beginning of 2002 and 100% since February 2009 . As a result of the insolvency of the KarstadtQuelle Group, the name was changed on February 15, 2010. Since then, the company has operated under the name Ergo Direkt Versicherungen . In 2014 it celebrated its 30th anniversary. In 2019, the Ergo Direkt brand was integrated into the Ergo brand as part of the merger of brands and sales channels.
Product portfolio
In addition to the classic endowment and term life insurance , care and various supplementary health insurance are offered. Holdings
Ergo Direkt Versicherungen has a 100% stake in the Berlin call center FlexiTel . 100% of the IT and solar service provider welivit AG was transferred to Ergo Elfte Beteiligungsmanagement GmbH in 2012 .
Welivit AG
The welivit AG was founded in 2000 as an IT service provider for the Ergo direct insurance. The company has been concentrating on its activity as a solar service provider for Munich Re since 2005 and has specialized in the design and implementation of sustainable solar projects throughout Europe. ERGO Elfte Beteiligungsmanagement mbH has been the sole shareholder of welivit AG since December 20, 2012.
FlexiTel
FlexiTel is an independent communications company and specializes in call center services in the financial services and insurance industries . The company has been 100% owned by Ergo Direkt insurance companies since 2007. The approx. 220 employees handle approx. 1.2 million customer contacts per year. The managing directors are Sylvia Schraml-Fiedler and Reinhard Wolf.
