Mirower Canal
The Mirower Canal (MiK) in the Mecklenburg Lake District , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the north-western part of the 32-kilometer-long Müritz-Havel-Wasserstraße (MHW) federal waterway with waterway class I, for which the Eberswalde Waterways and Shipping Office is responsible. The canal was built in 1935/36 and replaces the connection known as the Alte Müritz-Havel-Wasserstraße or Alte Fahrt via the Bolter Canal and the chain of lakes north of Mirow.
The 9.5 kilometer long Mirower Canal branches off the Müritz-Elde waterway at MHW km 32.02 from the Kleine Müritz at km 171.7 and leads over Sumpfsee and Ragunsee to the underwater of the Mirow lock at the confluence of the canal connection to the Mirower See .
