Carthage (band)
Karthago were a German Krautrock band . The troupe was considered an important representative of the genre in the 1970s, especially through its concerts.
history
Joey Albrecht initially plays in the groups Rivals and Blues Machine . Carthage was founded in 1971 with Ingo Bischof , Thomas Goldschmidt and Wolfgang Brock.
1973 Brock was replaced by Norbert "Panza" Lehmann and the second album was recorded. "Panza" switched to Epitaph the following year , his successor was Konstantin Bommarius. Bassist Gerald Hartwig stepped down and was replaced by Glenn Cornick (ex Jethro Tull ). 1975 Hartwig replaced Cornick again and Bishop switched to Kraan . After that, Carthage toured in changing line-ups. In 1978 they finally disbanded.
Since 2004 the band has been active again with old and new musicians.
