Ingo Bischof (born January 2, 1951 in Berlin-Kreuzberg ; † January 26, 2019 ) was a German musician and composer . He became known as the keyboard player of the German Krautrock bands Kraan und Karthago .

Life

Bischof received classical piano lessons between the ages of 8 and 14. In 1966 he founded his band Marvin Kemper and the Soul Group , and in 1969 the Modivations . 1970 began a collaboration with the singer and guitarist Joey Albrecht in a funk rock band.

In 1971, Bischof was one of the founding members of the German Carthage group . From 1975 until 2007 he played for Kraan . During this time he also worked with other bands such as Guru Guru and again with Karthago. He was also a studio musician for Reinhard Mey , Gitte Hænning , Interzone , Annette Humpe , Conny Plank , Heiner Pudelko , Veronika Fischer , Ulla Meinecke , Ulrich Roski , Frank Diez , Hellmut Hattler , Alex Conti , Lake and others.

In 2008 he recorded his first solo CD Reconstructed in Darmstadt , together with producer and multi-instrumentalist Hüseyin Köroglu. Contributors included Hellmut Hattler, Thomas Heidepriem and Frank Diez .

In 2008, Bischof went on tour with guitarists Frank Diez and Alex Conti's project Berlin Blues, as well as with Lake .
