The Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU; Russian Казахстанско-Британский технический университет ) is one of two technical universities in the former Kazakh capital of Almaty . The university was founded in 2001. The establishment of the Kazakh-British Technical University goes back to the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev , who negotiated with the United Kingdom about the establishment of such a university . In November 2000 an agreement between the two states was made. Since June 17, 2009 the KBTU has been teaching according to British standards. The university consists of a total of six faculties.
She maintains international relations mainly with universities in the United Kingdom. Among them are the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen , the University of Glasgow , the University of Dundee and the University of Stirling in Scotland . There are also good contacts to the Sol Bridge International School of Business in Daejeon , South Korea .
