Kaspar Leyser

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kaspar Leyser , also: Gottfrieds Leyser , († 1525 in Karlstadt ) was a leader in the German Peasants' War .

As a local farmer he lived in what is now the property of Vinzens Röder . He excelled as a farmer's guide in the Hausen - Wiesenfeld - Rohrbach area . Presumably he played a major role as a leader in the storming of the Karlburg near Karlstadt. Bishop von Scherenburg had him executed there along with eight other leaders in the criminal court in Karlstadt in June 1525.

The Hausen reservist comradeship features Kaspar Leyser as a symbol of freedom in their coat of arms . In 1986 a newly built fountain was dedicated to the farmer's guide Kaspar Leyser on Hausener Lindenplatz.
