Kaspar Linnartz

Johann Kaspar Linnartz , born Johann Caspar Linnartz (born December 27, 1878 in Kirchberg (Jülich district) , † December 14, 1955 in Cologne ) was a German teacher and name researcher .

Linnartz came as the son of the landlord Johann Linnartz and his wife Mechtilde nee. Minor to the world. At Easter 1898 he passed the high school diploma in Siegburg . After a doctorate to Dr. phil. At the University of Tübingen he entered the Prussian school service in 1904.

From 1922 to 1933 and then again from 1945 to 1955 he was head of the city of Cologne's school department. He published several works on the origin of first and last names.

Since 1902 Linnartz was married to Wilhelmine Maria Liebsch (1883-1970). He died of cancer in a Cologne hospital a few days before his 77th birthday. The family burial site is in the Melaten cemetery (hall 64).
