Oswald Rügner

Oswald Rügner (born September 16, 1879 in Frankfurt am Main , † after 1953) was a German leather goods manufacturer.

Career

Rügner was born the son of a master carpenter. He gained seven years of practical experience in a leather goods factory in Frankfurt am Main. In 1909 he founded his own company with three employees in Offenbach, which specialized in the manufacture of reptile leather. Later other niche sectors such as shark and seal leather, gold and silver leather and the processing of pig leather were added. By the beginning of the Second World War , the number of employees rose to 380.

He was a co-founder of the Association of the Hessian Leather Industry and from 1946 to 1952 first chairman and deputy chairman of the Association of the German Leather Industry .
