Live and act

Family life

Kaspar Mettelbach had a wife named Els (e) Mettelbach (in). We learn from her in a document dated November 12, 1470, in which the legacy of Kaspar Mettelbach's wife, namely Els (e) Mettelbach (in), who seems to have died in 1470, is discussed.

mayor

Kaspar Mettelbach is mentioned for the first time when he was enfeoffed with the monastery by Abbot Gerung von Maulbronn on July 16, 1434. Kaspar Mettelbach and Ulrich Nenninger were mayors in 1441 when Kunz Zopf awarded them the Böckinger Berg on June 9, 1441. In 1444 Mettelbach reappeared together with Ulrich Nenninger as mayor, when on November 5, 1444 both were summoned to Brünninghausen for a court hearing. Mettelbach also appears as an authorized representative of the city of Heilbronn when he is supposed to represent the city on November 16, 1446 in a legal dispute about Speyer. The sealing of the approval for the construction of the Carmelite monastery by the bishop, which he granted as mayor on November 8, 1450 , is also a memorable occasion . Mettelbach appears again in a document on November 9, 1456, where he makes demands on the city of Esslingen through his servant Wendel. After Mettelbach has always represented Heilbronn as mayor together with Nenninger, he appears together with Bernhard Berlin as mayor in 1458 . On November 11, 1458, they jointly initiate the protocol on the imprisonment of Heilbronn citizens. Mettelbach was last mentioned in 1476 when he was mayor together with Michael Hüngerlin , and a settlement was recorded on May 6, 1476.

Mayor

Towards the end of his life, Mettelbach worked more as a mayor . As such, on May 29, 1469, he sealed the legacy of the couple to one another. When it comes to the legacy of his wife Els (e) on November 12, 1470, Kaspar Mettelbach is also called Schultheiss. Mettelbach appeared for the last time as mayor on February 13, 1475 when he decided against Klaus Diemar in a complaint brought by the hospital nurses.
