Katarzyna Rogowiec
Katarzyna Rogowiec (born October 14, 1977 in Rabka-Zdrój ) is a Polish Paralympian in cross-country skiing . She won the world championships in 2005 12.5 km biathlon and in 2011 over 5 km.
Life
Katarzyna Rogowiec was born in the Polish spa town of Rabka-Zdrój. At the age of three, she lost both hands in an accident with a harvester. She attended the second general education high school in Rabka-Zdrój. In 2001 she graduated from the Cracow University of Economics and Business ( Akademia Ekonomiczna w Krakowie ) with a degree in public finance . Furthermore, in 2005 she successfully completed a postgraduate course at the Human Resource Management College in Warsaw ( Wyższa Szkoła Zarządzania Personelem w Warszawie ). In 2008 she took part in an expedition of the Mimo Wszystko Foundation for the Mentally Disabled ( despite everything ) to Kilimanjaro . In January 2009 Katarzyna Rogowiec became a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency ( WADA ) for three years . In 2013 their daughter was born.
Athletic performance
Katarzyna Rogowiec trains at the Start club in Nowy Sącz and has been part of the Polish national team since 2002.
