Disaster insurance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A catastrophe insurance provides coverage against diseases caused by human activity and climate change, direct or indirect environmental risks.

Flood disasters, for example, are not fully covered by building insurance and additional fire insurance packages against floods , avalanches or earthquakes, or by public disaster relief . In particular, the liability for environmental damage to industrial plants, ports, etc. caused by disasters has not been clarified.

Various insurers and reinsurers are working on coverage models for major losses for private real estate, for trade and industry in order to reorganize disaster risk management.
