The Kater Rocks are a small group of up to 22 m high cliff rocks off the Davis Coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located 1.5 km northwest of Cape Kater .
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) roughly mapped them. The expedition leader Otto Nordenskjöld named it in German based on the name of the cape of the same name. Its namesake is the British physicist Henry Kater (1777-1835), who was involved in the preparations for Henry Foster's Antarctic voyage with the HMS Chanticleer (1828-1832).
