Live and act

Katharina Bianca Mayrhofer grew up in Germany and the USA. After studying theater and media studies from 2008 to 2011 at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg , she applied to the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, where she studied directing from 2012 to 2016.

In her first year of study, she staged the play Amerika by Swiss author Gerhard Meister with the Young Ensemble of the Stadttheater Fürth , which had its German premiere there in 2012. In his acting review for Die Deutsche Bühne , Martin Bürkl wrote about her directorial debut: “She lets great ideas act out consistently [...] the Otto Falckenberg School has a fairly advanced new student and she does politically relevant theater. That is very good ”. Mayrhofer finished her studies directing the play The Powder Keg by Dejan Dukovski , which she performed with a women's ensemble at the Munich Kammerspiele .

Since 2017 she has been employed as an assistant director at the Schauburg children's and youth theater in Munich. On the stage of the Schauburg in 2018 she staged the more than three-hour revue artist salon , which the poet and radio maker Peter Paul Althaus had initiated as an artists' meeting in 1967, as a radio show that could also be heard as an actual radio broadcast on the Munich station Lora . “And suddenly the artist salon, which for years was only a presentation, was again the exchange of ideas from yesteryear,” said Dirk Wagner in the Süddeutsche Zeitung .
