Katharina Brichetti

Katharina Brichetti (* 1968 in Düsseldorf ) is a German building historian , architect and university professor who also works as an artist under the pseudonym Catarina Chietti , primarily in the field of oil painting.

Career

Brichetti graduated from the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. From 1991 to 2000 she worked as an architect in Hamburg and Berlin. In 2001 she did her doctorate at the University of Kaiserslautern ( Von Boullée to Rossi ). Since 2003 she has been teaching architectural and urban history at the Technical University of Berlin . In 2010 she completed her habilitation with the work Die Paradoxie des Postmodern Historismus . She teaches architectural and urban history as a private lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin.

Services

Brichetti has dealt in publications with the topics of urban redevelopment, urban monument preservation and urban politics. Another field of work is her endeavor to make newer cognitive science approaches of the "embodied mind" fruitful for the aesthetics of architecture and urban planning. It is about bodily-spatial or scenic perception and imagination of different architectural styles.
