Catherine D. Oppel

Katharina D. Oppel (* 1963 in Bonn ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

Katharina D. Oppel studied Catholic theology in Bonn , Jerusalem and Munich . This was followed by doctoral studies in Munich with Joachim Gnilka , which she completed in 1995 with a thesis on the Gospel of Mark . From 1988 to 2007 she was a member of the Venio OSB community in Munich.

She has been working as a pastoral consultant in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising since 1996 , teaching as a religion teacher at the grammar school from 2006 to 2011, after which Oppel worked in the community pastoral care, then in the pastoral care of the elderly. Since 2006 she has been working as an author and speaker on the theology and life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer .
