Act
For his work in the Orthodox Church , he was honored in 1982 with the highest order of the Armenian Apostolic Church , the Order of St. Nerses Shnorhali. In 1992 he was made an honorary citizen of Jerusalem for his commitment to ecumenism , reconciliation and the encounter between Israelis and Palestinians , Christians , Jews and Muslims .
It is thanks to his commitment that the centuries-old monastic tradition on the island of Reichenau has been revived. In 2001, together with Stephan Vorwerk OSB, he founded a Benedictine community ("Cella Reichenau"), which is looked after by the Beuron Archabbey. In 2014 he was a guest at the celebration of “10 years of Cella St. Benedikt Reichenau”.
