Hans Jorissen

Hans Jorissen (born November 19, 1924 in Frelenberg ; † October 29, 2011 in Heinsberg ) was a Roman Catholic German theologian .

Life

Hans Jorissen was born on November 19, 1924 in Übach-Palenberg -Frelenberg. He received the certificate of maturity on March 10, 1943 at the municipal high school in Herzogenrath . In the summer semester of 1943 he began to study Roman Catholic theology at the University of Bonn . After the second semester he had to interrupt his studies because he was called up for military service . The fighting in the Aachen area he fell into British captivity and came first in a Scottish POW camp , but was in the study camp for Catholic theologians POW camp 186 on 7 March 1945 Colchester / Essex laid. After his release from captivity in July 1946, he continued to study theology at the University of Bonn from the winter semester 1946/47 to the winter semester 1948/49 up to the final theological exam.

He was ordained priest on February 17, 1951 in Aachen and was chaplain in St. Elisabeth, Krefeld until 1954 . Then he was given leave to continue studying. He received his doctorate in theology on November 8, 1961. For his dissertation “Matter and Form of the Sacraments in the Understanding of Albert the Great”, he received the award summa cum laude .

Hans Jorissen completed his habilitation in 1963 and became a private lecturer at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Münster . From 1966 to 1989 he was a professor at the University of Bonn , where he held the chair for dogmatics and theological propaedeutics . His retirement took place on November 19, 1989. Until his death he worked as a pastor at the Bonn Minster .

Jorissen was a member of the student union of Catholic theologians St.VkTh. Rhenofrankonia Bonn.
