Catherine Graf

Katharina "Kathi" Graf (born February 24, 1873 in Capodistria , Istria , † November 8, 1936 in Amstetten ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ). Graf was a member of the state parliament from 1919 to 1934 and a member of the Federal Council in 1922 .

Graf attended six classes of elementary school and was employed as a maid. After the First World War she worked as the head of the social democratic women's organization in Lower Austria, married a railway official and lived as a housewife in Amstetten. There she was a member of the municipal council between 1919 and 1934, represented the Social Democratic Workers' Party in the Lower Austrian state parliament between May 20, 1919 and May 11, 1921 (from November 10, 1920, Lower Austria-Land Curia) and subsequently belonged to the independent Lower Austrian state parliament . Graf was also a member of the Federal Council from July 25, 1922 to September 15, 1922. In the course of the Austrian Civil War , Graf was revoked from her Landtag mandate on February 16, 1934, and she also lost her council mandate.
