Katharina Middendorf

Katharina Middendorf (born on January 17, 1978 in Düsseldorf , as Katharina Werner ) is a German yoga teacher and author .

Live and act

After graduating from the Ratsgymnasium Münster, Katharina Middendorf first studied in Siena . She completed her studies in social and business communication at the University of the Arts in Berlin with a degree in communications. Middendorf is the author of numerous books on the topics of yoga , partnership and help in life. She lives with her family in Berlin .

In 2008 Middendorf developed the yoga method Nivata with her husband Julian Middendorf, who died in 2013, and has been training yoga teachers ever since. Nivata is a yoga method that enables yoga learners and practitioners to independently carry out the yoga exercises (sadhana) that are appropriate for them. The style of Nivata is mindfulness-based Hatha Yoga combined with elements from meditation and Kundalini Kriya Yoga. Developed by Middendorf sequences Star Greeting (Nivata Namaskar) and Moon Greeting (Chandra Namaskar) expand the traditional repertoire performed in flowing succession yoga sequences (see sun salutation ). In 2018, Middendorf opened the Zehlendorf yoga school in Berlin together with her partner Ralf Sturm and the yoga teacher and nurse Annett Schpeniuk.
