Catherine of Bavaria

Katharina von Bayern (* 1360 probably in The Hague ; † 1402 ) was a Bavarian noblewoman and by marriage Duchess von Jülich - Geldern .

She was the eldest daughter of Duke Albrecht I of Straubing-Holland . In 1379 she married Duke Wilhelm von Jülich-Geldern , who was a good three years her junior and whose grandfather had captured her father in 1355. The marriage with Wilhelm, however, remained childless. Catherine, who in 1399 as a Lady of the Garter in the English Order of the Garter was taken with her husband in the Carthusian monastery north Monnikhuizen of Arnhem buried.
