from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Katharina von Kotzau was abbess of the Hof monastery from 1467 to 1476 .

Katharina came from the main line of the knightly noble family von Kotzau with their headquarters in today's Oberkotzau . Longa von Kotzau was another abbess of the family, she was in the nearby Himmelkron monastery of the Cistercians . Katharina was the ninth abbess of the Poor Clare Monastery in Hof .

The brothers Erhard, Heinz and Hans are known as their siblings according to Dobeck , the genealogist can only refer to the uncertain traditions of Johann Gottfried Biedermann for the parents' generation with another Hans von Kotzau . Katharina continues to be dated earlier than Ebert according to Dobeck. For him it is documented between 1398 and 1458 and is said to have been in the monastery as early as 1398.
