Cathedral of San Nicola di Bari

The Cathedral of San Nicola di Bari in Nicosia is the cathedral of the Diocese of Nicosia in the ecclesiastical region of Sicily . Bishop is Salvatore Pappalardo .

The Gothic facade of the main building from the 14th century has been preserved. The three-aisled interior contains sculptures by Antonello Gagini as well as the stalls and a cross from the 17th century.

The campanile of the church building with twin and triple windows and roof beam paintings dates from the 12th century. At the entrance to the campanile there are panels from the 18th and 19th centuries with dates indicating when the migratory birds returned from Central Europe.
