Katherine Fugate (born July 14, 1965 ) is an American screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Katherine Fugate is a niece of actress Barbara Eden and the cousin of the late bodybuilder and actor Matthew Ansara . She studied drama at the University of California, Riverside . She established herself as a screenwriter after her first film script was published in 2003. Julia Stiles and Shirley MacLaine star in the comedy film Carolina - In Search of Mr. Perfect , directed by Marleen Gorris . At the 2012 Golden Raspberry Awards , Fugate was nominated for Worst Screenplay .

Fugate gained greater fame as the creator of the hit television series Army Wives .

Fugate is married to actor Paul Rhys , with whom they have one child.
