Catholic adult education in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising
The Catholic Adult Education in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising eV (KEB Munich and Freising eV) is an amalgamation of educational institutions that offer open adult education under Catholic sponsorship. These include Catholic educational institutions (such as the Münchner Bildungswerk ), association educational institutions, diocesan educational institutions and specialist offices of the Archbishop's Ordinariate in Munich.
structure
The KEB Munich and Freising eV was founded in 1970 and is a member of the Catholic State Working Group for Adult Education in Bavaria eV (KEB Bavaria) and an institution for adult education worthy of support in the sense of the applicable law for the promotion of adult education (EbFöG). This is the mandate of a comprehensive, supraregional educational offer. Catholic adult education is carried out in the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising by volunteers and full-time employees and takes place at parish and parish association level, at deanery, city and district level and at diocesan level. There are a total of 14 district educational institutions and seven corresponding institutions of the Catholic associations as well as their own educational centers in Freising, Rosenheim and Traunstein. Every year, adult education in the archdiocese reaches more than 330,000 participants at over 14,000 events.
Areas of activity
The educational work in the KEB Munich and Freising eV is based on the Christian image of God and man. In this sense, the members of the KEB Munich and Freising are mainly active in seven core areas:
- Theological education
- Family education
- Senior education
- Health education
- cultural education
- political education
- Employee training and qualification of volunteers
Cooperation between educational actors
Since 2016, full-time and voluntary workers have been working digitally together on the diocesan-wide education platform korbiwiki. This project is unique in Germany. The aim is to present the heterogeneous educational activities in a technically sound manner and to support the networking of educational actors.
