The office of the Münchner Bildungswerk is located at Dachauer Straße 5.

The Münchner Bildungswerk - Catholic Adult Education in the City and District of Munich eV (MBW) is a non-profit institution for adult education in the City of Munich and in the District of Munich . The purpose of the registered association is to “promote open and non-profit Catholic adult education”.

There are six subject areas: theology and ethics (e.g. pilgrimage days), families and parents (Eltern-Aktiv, etc.), integration and migration (German courses, etc.), volunteer work (senior citizens, etc.), senior citizens (Munich storytelling café, etc.), art and Culture (e.g. city and church tours). The special facilities include the Munich Seniors Academy and the Painting Academy with its own studio.

The offers are geared towards lifelong learning.

history

The association was founded on December 19, 1972. Members are the Catholic parishes and associations in the city and district of Munich. In 1973 around 20,000 adults took part in 246 educational events. In 2011, 102,546 women and men attended 4,818 seminars. In 2012 the Bildungswerk celebrated its 40th anniversary. Up to this point, more than 3.5 million participants had been counted. The number of courses was 132,000. 30 full-time employees are employed at the head office. The offers on site are carried out by more than 250 voluntary training officers.
