The Catholic Front / Front of the Militant Catholics was a political organization in Switzerland that is attributed to the front movement .

history

In 1933 the brothers Carl and Fridolin Weder founded the Catholic Front . The main areas of activity were the cantons of St. Gallen , Appenzell Innerrhoden and Thurgau . A newspaper was published, The New People . Later the organization Front of the Militant Catholics was founded.

The organization strove to re-Catholicize Switzerland and turned against liberalism and communism in the political arena . The latter brought the organization, like the entire front movement , initially into a certain proximity to Italian fascism and National Socialism .

In 1938 the organization disappeared from public life.
