The Catholic University of Northern Chile ( Spanish : Universidad Católica de Norte , short: UCN ) is a Roman Catholic university under ecclesiastical law in Antofagasta ( Chile ).

It was founded on the initiative of Jesuits and with the support of Berta González de Astorga on May 31, 1956. In 1964 it was recognized by the Ministry of Education.

In 2013 it had 10,141 pregrado students and 468 posgrado students. Rector is Jorge Tabilo Álvarez; Grand Chancellor is Pablo Lizama Riquelme , Archbishop Emeritus of Antofagasta .
