Art and culture prize of the German Catholics

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Catholics' Art and Culture Prize is the Catholic Church's highest award in the cultural sector. This cultural award was founded in 1990 by the German Bishops' Conference (DBK) and the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) . Since then, it has been awarded every two to four years by the chairman of the DBK and the president of the ZdK. With the award, the donors want to “sharpen cultural awareness in the church and strengthen the religious dimension in today's pluralistic culture”. It is awarded in various cultural categories ( literature , architecture , music , film , visual arts and theater ) and is endowed with 25,000 euros.
