Kathrin Kagelmann (born February 15, 1965 in Bautzen ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). Between 2004 and 2019 she was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

Kagelmann completed the polytechnic high school in the GDR and then trained to become a skilled worker for writing technology. From 1984 to 1987 she studied at the Technical School for Political Science and was then a member of the Niesky District Council until 1990. From 1991 to 1994 she was a citizen advisor in Niesky at the unemployment association in Germany. From 1994 to 1998 she was then a regional employee in the Upper Lusatian PDS state association and from 1998 to 2002 she worked in the constituency office of the Bundestag member Ilja Seifert . Between 2003 and 2006 she worked as a self-employed trader.

Kagelmann is married and has three children.

Kagelmann joined the SED in 1984 . Since 2003 she has been a member of the board of the Upper Lusatia regional association of the Linkspartei.PDS. For the first time between 1995 and 1999, and then again since 2001, she is a member of the state executive committee of the Left Party.PDS Saxony, later the Left Party. Since October 2004 she has been a member of the Saxon State Parliament, in which she is a member of the Committee on Environment and Agriculture. In the state election in 2019 , they did not stand more of a mandate.
