Kathryn Colvin

Kathryn Colvin CVO (* 1945 ) is a British diplomat. She was 1999-2001 Deputy Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps of the British queen in the court of the United Kingdom . From 2002 to 2005 she was the Queen's Ambassador to the Holy See .

She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Bristol .

In 1958 she joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and spent the time from 1968 to 1994 in the Information Research Department (from 1977 also known as the Information and Analysis Department). From 1980 to 1990 she worked in the British delegation of the UNHCHR in Geneva .

She was Deputy Head of the OSCE Department from 1994 to 1995, of the Western Europe Department from 1995 to 1998, and of the Whitehall Liaison Department from 1998 to 1999 .

Colvin was Deputy Marshal of the Queen's Diplomatic Corps from 1999 to 2001 and Head of Protocols at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office .

In 2002 she was inducted into the Royal Victorian Order as Commander .
