Katja Fedulova

Ekaterina "Katja" Fedulova (* 1975 in Leningrad ) is a Russian-German filmmaker, camerawoman and director.

Life

In 1993 Fedulova began studying at the Vera Muchina Art Academy in St. Petersburg .

She left Russia because of the poverty, unemployment and crime that affected her. Fedulova emigrated to Germany in 1994 and began studying at the Muthesius University of Art and Design in Kiel (Diploma 2000). She then completed a film degree at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin . In 2017 she founded the production company Fedulova Films.

Katja Fedulova has two children. She lives and works in Saxony-Anhalt .

  • 2011: First Steps Award for Knights of Fortune (nominated), Achtung Berlin! Festival 2011 - Winner of the new berlin film award in the category Best Documentary
  • 2012: Scholarship from the Berlin Senate "Artist Program" for documentary research of Allah's Russian Brides
  • 2016: “Grenzgänger” grant for research on the documentary film Faith, Hope, Love
  • 2016: Grimme Prize nomination for Mein Name ist Khadija , 39th Duisburg Film Week , Moscow documentary film festival Artdocfest
  • 2018: German Academy for Television : Award in the documentary category for Three Angels for Russia - Faith, Hope, Love (together with Calle Overweg )
