Katja Mitteldorf (born March 12, 1985 in Magdeburg ) is a German politician ( PDS / Die Linke ) and member of the state parliament in Thuringia .

Life and work

Katja Mitteldorf attended school in Magdeburg and later Gardelegen . After graduating from high school in 2004 and a year abroad in the USA, she studied American studies and theater studies at the University of Leipzig until 2010 . According to her own statement, she was refused a diploma because she had not counted credits . She has lived in Nordhausen since 2005 and worked as a freelance actress and language and culture trainer.

She has been married to the actor Matthias Mitteldorf (* 1965) since 2006, who is also a city councilor for Die Linke in Nordhausen.

politics

Mitteldorf joined the PDS in 2006 and has been a member of the Nordhausen city council since 2014. From 2011 to 2014 she was the cultural policy advisor for the Left Party in the Thuringian state parliament.

MPs

In the state elections in Thuringia in 2014 , she won a direct mandate in the constituency of Nordhausen II with 32.9 percent . She is the deputy parliamentary group leader and spokeswoman for cultural policy, religious issues and dealing with the GDR history of her group. She is also a member of the Committee on Europe, Culture and the Media. In the state elections in Thuringia in 2019 , she again entered the Thuringian state parliament as a direct candidate with 32.6 percent.
