Katrien Gielen (born October 26, 1990 in Hasselt ) is a Belgian volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Gielen began her career as an indoor volleyball player. She played in Tongeren, among others. When the experienced beach volleyball player Liesbeth Mouha was looking for a new partner in early 2011, Gielen switched to playing in the sand. At the World Championships in Rome they reached the first main round in second place and were eliminated from the Germans Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler . In August they played at the European Championships in Kristiansand , where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals against the Czechs Klapalová / Háječková .
